No, you can still plan and conduct your own ceremony at Preston's Thicket without having to buy a wedding package.
Q: I would like to get married next June. How far ahead do I need to reserve the cabin for my wedding?
If you are planning your own wedding, you can reserve the cabin anytime and take care of your own details. If you are purchasing a wedding package, we need 90 days notice to allow us to plan and finalize event details and get everything perfect for your day.
Q: I am interested in package #1 but do not have a local minister because I am just visiting the area. Can you arrange for a minister to marry us?
Yes, depending on what your preference of denomination, we have several ministers that would be honored to perform your ceremony. We will give you their contact information and you would arrange the details and payment directly with them.

Yes, we work with a local stable that will arrange for up to 4 horses to be delivered to the pasture for a true country setting!
Q: Can we get married on the bridge instead of the gazebo?
You can get married anywhere on the property you'd like.
Q: I'd like to arrange my own catering and use the cabin kitchen. How is the kitchen set up for cooking and baking?
The kitchen is large enough for 4 people to prepare and cook. There is a gas oven/stove, a large side-by-side refrigerator and a full size microwave. The refrigerator can store trays of food for 20 people. If you are planning more than 20, you may want to consider having the event catered. There is also a large coffee pot that will serve 30 people
Q: I am considering renting your cabin for my wedding this summer and am expecting 50+ guests. Where will everyone park?
If you are handling your own wedding/reception, we can suggest a few places within 1 mile of the cabin to park. If we are handling the wedding, we will park the guests offsite and provide transportation for them to the wedding site as part of Package #3.
Q: Could I use the pasture to pitch a large tent and have my reception there?
Yes. The pasture is ideal to set up a large party tent but keep in mind there is no water or electricity. You could serve bottled water and rent a generator to run your lights and electricity.
Q. I am interested in Package #2 and would like to know how do we do the coordination for the food (menu choices), the seating, and other details since I will only be in the area for a few days before the wedding.
We can do most of the coordination by email and phone calls. Professionals will be handling the food, the flowers and the arrangements, so all details are worked through before your arrival. We want you to arrive before the wedding with time to rest and enjoy yourself before the Big Day!
Q. As the bride, could I rent the cabin for 1 week for myself and my party, have the wedding, then let my guests stay there for the remainder of the week when we leave for the honeymoon?
Absolutely! That is why it is so convenient to have the wedding and reception at the cabin and on the surrounding grounds. You can leave and let your guests stay and continue the celebration!
