Welcome to Preston's Thicket!
Preston's Thicket vacation cabins are for travelers who seek a secluded mountain retreat but still want to be within 10 minutes to town for sightseeing and shopping.
We are Pet Friendly, Non-Smoking, Equestrian Equipped, and available for bookings year-round.

Book now for the upcoming sure-to-be-spectacular autumn leaf-peeping season (mid October-early November). Don't wait! Lodging fills up fast here in the mountains but we still have some availability. Preston's Thicket offers more than any hotel in terms of being pet-friendly, offering more privacy, providing more amenities and easier on your budget!
We have 2 cabins for you: (2 night minimum):
The Family Cabin - upstairs/downstairs (full bathrooms each floor) with 4 bedrooms and a large screened in front porch overlooking property. Inside dining seating for 10 and front porch seating for 12. Fully equipped kitchen with all household appliances, Satellite TV, high speed Wi-Fi, telephone, fireplace, garden with gazebo, lstocked fishing pond and cascading waterfall.
The "Cowboy Cottage" sleeps 2 and is just a short walk away from the Family Cabin with its own private driveway. Cowboy Cottage has been used for extra guests from the Famly Cabin, or rented separately. It is available for guests with or without horses.
Both Cabins are within 5-10 minutes to:
Lake Lure Beach & Marina
Chimney Rock Park with its Village Shops
Lakeside restaurants
Post office
Wine and Liquor store
Grocery store/ATM/Gas
Golf Course
Horseback riding
Mineral, gem and fossil mining

These are our wildlife friends that visit the property regularly--you will see at least a few of these! We have seen evidence of bear and have heard an owl, but have not caught either on camera--you may be luckier!
